Université Gustave Eiffel has decided to digitise and make available for free download all the works published in the LCPC collections, given the heritage value of these publications.

For 45 years, the LCPC collections have helped to capitalise on and disseminate the scientific and technical knowledge of the network of Ponts et Chaussés laboratories in the fields of civil engineering, urban engineering, natural hazards, transport infrastructure, engineering structures, etc. In all, more than 600 publications, technical guides, test methods and proceedings are available to Internet users. The works are in French, with a few exceptions.

Download the catalogue of the LCPC collections.

The works are grouped into 4 collections: Techniques et Méthodes, Études et Recherches, Rapport de Recherche, Actes des journées scientifiques.  Each work is accompanied by a detailed description and a download link.

Background

The Laboratoire Central des Ponts et Chaussées (LCPC) was created in 1949 as a research department of the Ministry for Public Works. A national and international benchmark in the fields of civil engineering, urban engineering, natural hazards, transport infrastructure and engineering structures, in 1998 the LCPC became a Public Scientific and Technical Research Establishment under the joint supervision of the Ministry for Ecology and the Ministry for Research.

In 2011, the French National Institute for Transport and Safety Research (Institut National de Recherche sur les Transports et leur Sécurité - INRETS) and the Laboratoire Central des Ponts et Chaussées merged to form the French Institute of Science and Technology for Transport, Development and Networks (Institut Français des Sciences et Technologies des Transports, de l'Aménagement et des Réseaux - IFSTTAR). In 2020, the IFSTTAR became Université Gustave Eiffel, following its merger with Université Paris-Est Marne-la-Vallée.
