Who is ELEA?

Identity : friendly robot

Âge : the same as you

Country : France

Mission : make science fun and interesting

ELEA discovers the cybersecurity

Internet, Wi-Fi, 5G, smartphones... these are all familiar words to us. “Wireless” communication is increasingly part of our daily lives. However, hackers take advantage of this to attack individuals, companies and even governments. The protection of IT systems is therefore an important focus of research and development.

ELEA will take you on a journey into the world of cybersecurity to help you better understand this complex subject. Simply play the video (duration: 2m 53s).

Put simply...

What are electromagnetic waves? These waves are all around us and allow wireless communication to take place. An electromagnetic wave is a certain quantity of energy that vibrates as it travels. It is composed of an electric current and magnetic forces (like those of a magnet) that travel in “waves”. The energy is weightless and does not need matter in order to make its journey. Each type of wave is defined according to its characteristics, namely its frequency (i.e. the number of vibrations per second) and amplitude (i.e. the height of the “wave”). Together, all electromagnetic waves form the electromagnetic spectrum.
