-

Souad Abou Zeid is a post-doc student at the ESYCOM (Electronics, Communication Systems and Microsystems) laboratory of Université Gustave Eiffel. Fascinated by maths and physics from an early age, she eventually decided to focus on chemistry. She began her undergraduate studies in chemistry in Lebanon then came to France for a second-year Master’s and a PhD at Université Paris Saclay.

Her current research focuses on zinc oxide nanowires and biocompatible and non-toxic nanomaterials. The aim of these nanomaterials is to purify water and air using a chemical reaction that harnesses the sun's energy (photocatalysis). Through her research, Souad is helping to reduce environmental pollution!
