Palmyre de La Touanne is a faculty member and a member of the LISAA (Literature, Knowledge and Arts) laboratory of Université Gustave Eiffel. Her love for books led her to an undergraduate degree and then a Master’s in Modern Literature. She then began a PhD on the life of Marguerite Yourcenar, a 20th-century author who wrote in many literary genres (novels, short stories, poetry, essays, theatre, etc.) and was the first woman to be elected to the Académie Française, in 1980!

More broadly, Palmyre is also interested in the place of women in the literary world and the reception of their works. She has contributed to the Cité des Dames project which aims to shine a spotlight on the contribution of women to cities. As part of the project, she identified all the places in Paris associated with Marguerite Yourcenar. This list of places was added to an application that offers urban walks in the footsteps of several women writers to make known their lives and works.
